ATI Rage Xpert99/Xpert2000 používá grafický čip od společnosti ATI, kterou v roce 2006 koupila firma AMD. Jedná se o model Rage 128 VR. Ten má na sobě malý pasivní chladič, který se skoro nezahřívá. Sice v obecném názvu písmena VR nejsou, ale ty značí, že jde o verzi jen se 64-bitovou sběrnicí, přes kterou komunikuje 32MB video paměti. Pokud kartu porovnáme se silnější variantou ATI Rage 128 GL, která se liší 128-bitovou sběrnicí a použitými SGR pamětmi, nemá tohle užší hrdlo v rozlišeních 640×480 a 800×600 až takový vliv na výkon a ztrácí nějaké 3FPS. Ve vyšších nastaveních už je to ovšem znát více a někde je rozdíl i 10 FPS. Cena byla proti plné variantě trochu příznivější. Prodávala se v srpnu 1999 okolo 3760,-Kč při průměrné měsíční mzdě 12 797Kč.
Podle mého průzkumu je nejrealističtější na 3D testy grafických karet z let 1996 až 1999 použít složený počítač z roku 1998, který obsahuje základní desku ZIDA CreateBXe (1998) s čipsetem Intel BX a v ní procesor Intel Celeron 333MHz (1998) přetaktovaný na 500MHz. Prodejci totiž běžně do tohoto levného stroje instalovali jak levné (slabé), tak i dražší (středně silné) grafické karty. A díky lehce provedenému přetaktování by měl relativně nakrmit i grafiky drahé (silnější) a vykreslit tu dobovost. Pro hladký chod je přítomno 128MB RAM a zvuky s hudbou produkovala integrovaná zvukovka Creative PCI 128. Vše běželo na operačním systému Windows 98.
